When you have a lot of unsecured debt and are behind on your payments, debt settlement can be a viable option to get out of this situation sooner. If you’re looking for a debt relief company that can help you navigate this process, Century Support Service (CSS), also known as Century debt relief, is a good option.
In this Century debt relief review, we’ll break down how the company’s debt settlement program works, how much it charges, how it compares to competitors, and its pros and cons.
How Does Century Debt Relief Work?
If you have over $10,000 in credit card debt or other unsecured debt, Century Support Services may help you become debt-free.
The Century debt relief program starts with a free evaluation with one of the company’s debt settlement specialists, who will chat with you to get the details about your situation and assess your debts. This is also a good opportunity for you to ask questions and learn more about their program.
As part of their debt settlement program, you will negotiate with your creditors to reduce the amount of debt you owe in return for a one-time, lump-sum payment you’ll make to them. Once you enroll in the program, you’ll stop making payments to your creditor(s) and start saving money in a separate savings account each month, to accumulate funds for your lump-sum payment.
They’ll set up a customized program with a payment savings plan that fits your budget. Your monthly payment will be deposited in a separate bank savings account, which Century Support Services will help you use to settle your debts.
Once you have enough money in your payment savings account, the company will reach out to your lenders and start the debt negotiation process. Once they reach an agreement that is acceptable to you and your creditor(s), they’ll pay the settlement amount to your creditor(s), and any remaining balances you owe will typically be waived or forgiven. After everything is completed, your account(s) will be marked as “settled in full,” and you can start over fresh. In exchange for their part in helping negotiate your settlement and helping you administer the process, the company will charge a settlement fee based on your enrolled debt.

Services Offered by Century Support Services
Century Support Services only offers debt settlement services, it does not offer any other debt relief services. But, if you have at least $10,000 in unsecured debt, you may be a good candidate for a debt settlement program. Keep in mind, however, that only unsecured debts qualify for enrollment, such as credit card debts, personal loans, private student loans, payday loans, and medical debt. Secured debts like mortgage loans and auto loans do not qualify for debt settlement.
Costs and Fees
The settlement fees for Century debt relief vary based on your state. However, you can expect to pay about 25% of the amount of debt you enroll in their program, on average. Most debt settlement companies charge 15% to 25% of either: 1) the debt that is enrolled; or 2) the debt that is settled. It is important to understand the difference, as the two amounts can be significantly different.
Keep in mind that Century Support Services charges based on enrolled debt, not the settlement amount. Charging upfront fees is illegal, so you’ll only pay this fee once a settlement is reached that is acceptable to both you and your lender(s).
Time To Complete the Program
Most clients complete the program in 24 to 48 months. However, not all clients can. This may be due to several reasons, such as an inability to save the necessary amount for settlement.
The time it takes to complete the program also varies based on several factors, such as the total amount you owe and whether you’re dedicated to putting aside money each month for the settlement.
Expected Relief Amount
Century Support Service claims that clients who stay with the debt settlement program until completion and settle all their debts save approximately 43% before fees. After fees, these savings amount to approximately 16%.

Century Debt Relief Reviews and Feedback
With so many debt settlement companies to choose from, it’s important to thoroughly read the reviews of any company you plan to work with. Here’s an in-depth look at the customer experiences and reviews on different review platforms.
Century Debt Relief Reviews on Better Business Bureau
Century Support Services is BBB-accredited and has an A+ rating. It has 3.74/5 stars from 88 customer reviews as of August 2024.
Clients leaving a positive review are happy about the friendly and helpful customer support staff and the results they were able to achieve with the debt settlement program. Here’s one such review:
“Great experience and I would refer them to friends or family. No upfront fees, **** didn't sugar coat things and helped me resolve $36,000 in debt.”
We were also able to find several one-star reviews on BBB that pointed to issues like lack of communication, problems canceling the program, and unsatisfactory results from the program. Here’s an example:
“Not Happy with the process or results. Too long to settle and no open communication throughout the process. You must follow what is going on in the portal. Plus the fees are ridiculous. You may as well pay your cards on time because the settlement cost is just as much as it would cost to pay the card at $600 a month. For nearly 2 years. Had to drop some of the accounts from the program. Not happy at all.”
Century Debt Relief Reviews on Trustpilot
On Trustpilot, the company has 4.9/5 stars from 2,585 reviews (as of August 2024). 91% of the reviews on the platform have a 5-star rating, while only 2% have a one-star rating.
Reviewers that left 5-star ratings are happy with the professional and friendly staff members. Here’s a review we found on Trustpilot:
“My experience was great because my Debt Specialist, Matthew Stimson, was very helpful. Matthew went over and beyond the call of duty to assist me. He was very professional, knowledgeable, polite, respectful, and certainly understanding. I was very impressed by his expertise. He answered all of my questions and concerns. Matthew explained what to expect and how the program works in great detail. He truly cares about his customers. He is among the best worldwide. Matthew deserves an employee of the year award, a monetary bonus, plus a million goal stars. Kudos to Matthew! Great job!”
However, we were also able to uncover a few issues from the one-star reviews, such as pushy sales tactics and lack of transparency with how the program works. Here’s an example:
“I received a call from this company telling me I was pre-qualified for a loan. I didn’t really need [the] services but was interested because they reached out to me. I got an agent named Brittany who was very rude, and tried to rush through my questions. I had no clue who this company was or why they were contacting me so I was asking normal questions to understand their services. She also hung up on me when I thanked her for her time but I wasn’t interested. Even if I was looking for a loan, I wouldn’t be going through this company simply because of the poor customer service.”
Century Debt Relief Reviews on Reddit
While we weren’t able to find a lot of recent posts about Century Support Services on Reddit, we did find a few older posts that talk about a lack of transparency and communication problems. Here’s an excerpt from one Reddit post:
“Fast forward to today, I came by to visit and she asked if I could call the number requesting for more information in regards to the settlement. I called and followed the steps instructed and no one picked up and calls were constantly disconnected at different durations of calls. It triggered a flag for me. I did research and found out that they are not BBB accredited and they have bad reviews of the same situation my aunt is in.”
