Navy Federal Credit Union offers six different cards for individuals to choose from, each with attractive rewards. With many no-annual-fee cards and a secured card option for those with poor credit, there’s a card for all credit card goals and credit types. The financial institution also has two credit card options for businesses.

As the largest credit union in the country, Navy Federal has consistently received high customer reviews for its excellent services, earning it a spot in the Top 10 Credit Card Issuer in the U.S. list.  Navy Federal Credit Union credit cards stand out for their value, offering low or no annual fees and competitive interest rates compared to other issuers.

To apply for Navy Federal Credit Union credit cards, you’ll have to be a member. Membership is limited to former or current members of the military, Department of Defense personnel, and their immediate family members.

Additionally, each credit card comes with creditworthiness requirements. While Navy Federal doesn’t list its minimum credit score requirements on the website, you’ll need good or excellent credit to qualify for some of its cards, like the Visa Signature Flagship Rewards Credit Card.

If you have a poor credit score or are rebuilding your credit, you may apply for the nRewards® Secured Credit Card.

Navy Federal Credit Union cards are designed to meet the specific needs of different cardholders. However, most of its cards offer the following benefits:

  • Navy Federal credit cards come with lower variable APRs than popular alternatives. For example, the Platinum Credit Card offers 11.24% to 18% APRs. In contrast, the USAA Rate Advantage Credit Card offers 11.15% to 25.15% APRs.
  • Most credit cards come with no annual fees.
  • You’ll benefit from higher rewards in bonus categories. For example, with the Visa Flagship Rewards Card, you can earn 3x points per dollar for travel purchases.
  • Navy Federal offers a secured credit card, which you can use to build or rebuild your credit.
  • You can prequalify before you apply for a credit card.
  • Excellent customer reviews on Trustpilot.

“Being part of a credit union has so many benefits,” explains Teresa Dodson, financial expert and founder of Greenbacks Consulting. “Navy Fed is a great one with a full list of product offerings!” she shares.

cashRewards Credit Card

If you’re looking for a no-fee card that still offers cash back, the cashRewards credit card from Navy Federal is a good choice. You can earn a $250 bonus cash back as a part of the welcome offer when you spend $2,500 in the first 90 days. It also comes with a free collision damage waiver.

More Rewards American Express® Card

The More Rewards American Express® card is a practical option for those who want higher reward rates for bonus categories. This Navy Federal Credit Union card offers 3x points per dollar on food delivery and restaurants, transit, gas, and supermarkets.

Additional benefits include 25% off on car rentals, roadside assistance, and damage insurance. You can also get a one-time statement credit of $98 for an annual Walmart+ membership.

Visa Signature® Flagship Travel Rewards Credit Card

The Visa Signature® Flagship Rewards from Navy Federal offers benefits usually found in cards with much higher annual fees. For the first year, you’ll have a $0 intro annual fee, after which a $49 annual fee applies. You’ll earn high rewards on the card, a sign-up bonus of 35k points when you spend $3,500 within 90 days of opening a new account, plus a year of free Amazon Prime.

GO REWARDS® Credit Card

The GO REWARDS® Credit Card is designed for those who may not qualify for Navy Federal’s top-tier cards. However, it still provides valuable benefits, including a lower APR. For the first 6 months after opening an account, you can get 0.99% intro APR on purchases.

With an interest rate ranging from 14.24% to 18%, this card is a better option for those who carry balances. It offers a more competitive APR than the national average of 24.20%.

Platinum Credit Card

Navy Federal’s Platinum Credit Card is another wallet-friendly option if you regularly maintain a balance on your card. With no fees and a low intro APR, this credit card also allows you to save on balance transfers if you have credit card debt.

The card has no welcome bonus or traditional rewards, but it offers other benefits like travel and emergency assistance and collision damage waiver.

nRewards® Secured Credit Card

nRewards® is Navy Federal’s credit card for bad credit. You can qualify for the card if you deposit at least $200 in a savings account at the credit union. This is a secured credit card, but your deposit will continue to earn interest.

The nRewards® Secured credit card also offers rewards, which is not something that you’ll get with most secured credit cards. You can transition to an unsecured credit card following a review after six months.

Navy Federal Credit Union credit cards offer many attractive perks, rewards, and welcome bonuses. The biggest benefit, however, is the low APRs. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that you’ll need to be a Navy Federal member to apply for any of these cards.
